Back in 2015, when the sides met in an epic League Cup semi-final, the Blades were in League One and could only dream of top-flight football. Ahead of the latest meeting between the two sides this weekend, here's where the side from the memorable second leg at Bramall Lane ended up…
5. Bob Harris
Signed from Blackpool in 2014, Harris spent two years at Bramall Lane and was another part of the side that reached the FA Cup semi-finals under Nigel Clough. An attacking full back, Harris left in 2016 and later played for Bristol Rovers and FC United of Manchester Photo: Jamie McDonald
6. Jamal Campbell-Ryce
A mercurially-talented winger who could be a world-beater on his day, Campbell-Ryce wowed and frustrated the Blades crowd in equal measure. He is now a coach at Peterborough United's academy Photo: GLYN KIRK
7. Michael Doyle
The Irishman played over 200 games for the Blades in the middle of midfield, captaining them to the semi-finals of both the FA Cup and League Cup during his time at Bramall Lane. Now 41, he moved into coaching at Forest Green Rovers after retiring but left Rovers last month Photo: Laurence Griffiths
8. Jose Baxter
The mercurial Baxter arrived at Bramall Lane from Oldham and scored United's opening goal in the FA Cup semi at Wembley. But his time at Bramall Lane ended after he was twice banned for failing drugs tests. Returned to Everton and is currently an 'academy assistant' at his boyhood club Photo: OLI SCARFF
