Ahead of the latest meeting between the two sides on Sunday lunchtime, here's where the side from the memorable night at Bramall Lane ended up…
9. Florent Cuvelier
Formerly of Stoke and Portsmouth, Cuvelier arrived at Bramall Lane in 2013 but made just 10 league starts in his three year spell. He later signed for Port Vale, Burton, Walsall and Morecambe, making his last professional appearance for the latter in 2018. Still only 28 years old Photo: Sport Image
10. Jamie Murphy
Another Scottish star in United's ranks, Murphy was transformed into a striker from a winger under Clough before moving to Brighton to further his hopes of winning a Scotland cap. Later moved to his boyhood club Rangers but suffered a bad knee injury and now plays for Hibernian Photo: Jamie McDonald
11. Marc McNulty
The striker was signed by Clough from Livingston in 2014 and scored the winner against Southampton to set up the semi against Spurs. He finished United's top scorer that season before later moving to Portsmouth and Sunderland. Now a full Scottish international, he plays for Dundee United on loan from Reading Photo: Jamie McDonald
12. Subs: Jose Baxter
The mercurial Baxter arrived at Bramall Lane from Oldham, but his time at United ended after he was twice banned for failing drugs tests. He was given a second chance by Everton after his second ban and earlier this year, signed for American side Memphis 901 FC Photo: MARTYN HARRISON
