But there is some light at the end of the tunnel and, proving restrictions do ease on the pushed-back Freedom Day of July 19, fans will hopefully be allowed back in grounds next season, which begins in early August.
Another milestone comes tomorrow when the new Championship season fixtures are released, and hopefully it won’t be too long before Blades fans can pack out away ends up and down the country as United look to return to the Championship at the first attempt following Slavisa Jokanovic’s appointment as their new manager.
The Blades will also find out their opponents in the League Cup tomorrow.
