New shirts fly off the rails

FANS were up with the larks to snap up Sheffield United’s new home strip.

Supporters caught up in play-off final fever queued as early as 6.30am outside the club’s Bramall Lane Superstore to get kitted out ahead of their big day out to Wembley.

The shop sold out of its 300 replica shirts within the first 30 minutes of it opening. Jill Davies, chief executive of shirt sponsor Westfield Health, was on hand to sell the first jersey to Ben Thornton, of Woodseats, Sheffield.

Lisa Crossland, Superstore manager, said: “Shirts were flying out. We had to keep re-stocking the rails.”
