There were celebrations all round as girls from the South Yorkshire Netball Academies received certificates and awards from England’s U19 star Claire Wilsher.

Claire came through the South Yorkshire talent selection process and was gold capped by Sheffield Concord Netball Club before making her debut on the court for the Yorkshire Jets in a Superleague match.

Claire herself was also presented with a special award, in recognition of her European Gold Medal which she had won that weekend playing for England.

All the girls who have been committed to the programme throughout the season received certificates, and those who had progressed from the Satellite to the Academy also were congratulated.

The athletes who are currently in the regional programme - Hannah Bolderson, Grace Brownell, Alice Winch and Lauren Wolstenholme - were also commended for their progress. Winners included:

Maltby Satellite: Most Committed Trophy: Charlotte Hardman.

Most Improved Trophy: Jessica Vaughan.

EIS Satellite: Most Committed Trophy: Annie James.
