In the Division One clash between the newly pair of Sheffield Collegiate VP and Hathersage, Collegiate were bundled out for 84 (R Mohammadullah 4-21), but Hathersage struggled, only a patient 41 not out from Mark Rodgers saw them to a win by four wickets.

At Beauchief, De La Salle smote their way to 250-6 (K O’Sullivan 88 T Barney 47), then shot out Sheffield University for Staff 94 (S Willey 6-24). Stocksbridge mustered just 114 against Totley Sports, who got home by four wickets (M Ali 47).

The pair of pretenders to the Division One crown, Hollinsend Meths and Holmesfield, met at Fox Lane. Hollinsend made a useful 180-9 (M Parker 61) but Holmesfield eased to the win by six wickets, thanks in no small part to a very significant number of extras conceded by the Hollinsend attack.

Sheffield Civil Service were sent back for 111 as Jamie Carrington snatched 6-27), and Parkhead cantered to the win by six wickets.

In Division Two, the localised heavy rain in the Peak District put paid to several fixtures. At ashford, Parkhead II made just 123 all out (P Marsden 5-28), then had Ashford in trouble at 33-3 before the downpour came.

In a game that pitted two of the title contenders together, Hallam III totalled 188-8 (Herold 48), but Sheffield Centralians galloped to the win by four wickets (Denning 68).

Hollinsend Meths II rocketed along to a truly mammoth 311-8 as Alan Wake hit 165 – the second ton of the season for the veteran opener (J Hotchin 48).

A shell-shocked Calver succumbed to 182 all out. Hundall were dismissed for 147 (A Sehjal 55 A Khan 4-23), TRS reaching the target with seven down to head the nascent table (R Khan 64*).

Sheffield Medics hit a useful 188-9 (V Godena 40 A Hussain 6-10), Totley Bent made light of this to cruise to the win by five wickets (M Salim 69* M Navid 42).

A full programme took place in Division Four. In Ecclesfield, Sheffield Civil Service II were bowled out for 122 (A Yardley 4-20) allowing Walkley to a comfortable seven wicket win (P Sidle 46). Dronfield Woodhouse were sent back for a paltry 62 Whittington Wanderers eased to victory, also by seven wickets. Kevin Owers of Sheffield Centralians II piled up an unbeaten 125 as his side closed on 241-7.

Norton Woodseats II were a long way short at 135-9. Telecom Sports II were dismissed for 106 (T Bacon 4-39) which Chesterfield III surpassed with four wickets in hand despite 5-36 from Shaik.

A thriller ensued at Warminster Road as home team Sheffield University Staff II amassed an impressive 213-4 (O Burke 42 J Chisholm 43 A Cassels 57). Undaunted, Richmond inched to a two wicket win thanks to Heap (89) and Turner (40*).

In Division Five, visitors Hathersage II made a useful 168-8 on the road at Whittington Wanderers II (K Siddall 48 R Barfoot 5-46). Whittington Wanderers II were dismissed for 87 in reply.

Grant Woolley (57) was the mainstay of Coal Aston IV’s 157-8. Sheffield Transport II could only reply with 97 all out. Jon Maiden (46) anchored Hallam V’s 120 all out at Baslow II, who were dismissed for 96 in reply. Mick Rowntree spanked 108* for Sheffield Collegiate YDL2 as they closed on 178-3 (J Foster 53). Tideswell failed to reach the halfway mark, bowled out for 82.

Newcomers Sheffield Superkings were bowled out for 137 (M Wade 4-26) but rallied to send back Hollinsend Meths III for 105.
