Sheffield’s Jonny Marray and doubles partner Jamie Murray are through to the last four of the Moselle Open in France.
Marray, who won the Wimbledon doubles title in 2012, and Murray, brother of British No 1 Andy Murray, beat France’s Jeremy Chardy and Czech Republic’s Lukas Rosol 6-3 6-2 last night in Metz.
It marks a successful return to the main ATP World Tour for Marray after a season battling injury and struggling to strike up a partnership with a regular playing partner.
The former All Saints School student won a Challenger Tour event in Istanbul, Turkey, last week with Scotland’s Colin Fleming and he kept his north of the border links by teaming up with Murray this week.
Fourth seeds Marin Draganja of Croatia and Finland’s Henri Kontinen will be the British pair’s semi-final opponents today.
