DONCASTER wheelchair fencing star Craig McCann has been named by The British Paralympic Association in the team for the 2012 Paralympic Games in London.

McCann was first spotted at a Paralympic Potential Day in April 2010 and his selection to Paralympics GB marks his rapid progress in the sport.

Craig, aged 28, who competed at the 2011 European Championships in Sheffield, said: “I am really excited about this news, it’s finally started to sink in. I deferred a year from my studies to focus on training and I realise now that everything up to this point has been worth it. It was definitely the right decision.”
