Steel City Judo Club coach Lawrence Pritchard and squad are pictured receiving a cheque for £850 from Grahams Tyres director Michael Andrews.

The company raised the money in the cash for causes campaign and the club will be using it to buy much needed training equipment such as new crash mats.

These will enable the junior squad to practice the bigger judo throws without fear of injury.

This will be invaluable for the junior training leading up future competitions such as the British School games at iceSheffield, in which the club, on Grimesthorpe Road, havs five children entered.
