SHEFFIELD’S Steve Judge defended his Para-triathlon World title in the Tri 3 Category in Auckland, New Zealand in the early hours of Monday morning.

Judge from Eckington, recorded the fastest time of one hour, two minutes and 55 second to beat American David Kyle into second place by more than one minute.

He won the World title last year in Beijing last year and said: “It was tough and a very emotional end to fantastic year.”

Judge, who has set his sights on winning the inaugural para-triathlon at the Paralympics in Rio 2016, also won a silver medal at the European championships in April in Eilat, Israel.
