JONNY Marray is on schedule to play in this month’s Sony Open in Miami as he recovers from two injuries that have cost him valuable ranking points and prize money.
The 32-year-old Wimbledon doubles champion from Sheffield had to withdraw from last month’s ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam with a calf tear. In his absence he saw doubles partner Colin Fleming win the Open 13 in Marseille, with India’s Rohan Bopanna.
Marray has used the break to have an operation on a long-standing hernia problem.
The Sony Open, which begins on March 20, is the second Masters tournament of the season. The winners receive 1,000 ranking points.
