SHEFFIELD Steelers gained a point from drawing in regulation time, but lost 4-3 in overtime at Braehead Clan this evening.

It was another dent in their ambitions of catching Elite League leaders Belfast Giants.

League hot shot Jade Galbraith had taken just three minutes to put Clan ahead.

He converted a chance set up by Mike Bayrack.

And at 16;39 Mike Wirll blasted the Scots 2-0 up.

It looked like it would be a long night, but Sheffield hit back in the middle period, with a brace of goals in 40 seconds, from Colt King and Jeff Legue.

Brock McPherson gave Clan a third period lead but that was cancelled out by another equaliser, this time from right winger Mike Ramsay.

It was enough to take the titanic battle into overtime, where the Scots’ star Bayrack scored the decisive goal.
