And the good news is that they may be witnessing his silky skills for some time to come.

Hot shot Beaudry, who has scooped six points in five games, has enjoyed his first spell in the EIHL and has lived up to coach Aaron Fox's initial description of him as a "two way defencemen who plays in all situations."

He showed that with two power play goals in a golden 10 minute spell in the first period against Manchester Storm in Tuesday's 6-4 win.

Asked whether he would be interested in re-signing for Sheffield for 2021-22, should the club offer him a deal he replied: "Yes, since I got here the organisation has been A1; it is really fun to be a part of it.

"When you are put in a good situation to perform it is always fun, and we can see it on the ice...we are having success.

"There are a lot of people behind us helping us to be at our best so ...if there is an opportunity in the future, who knows, but for sure I would be interested."

Beaudry has filled the Ben O'Connor-sized hole in as a quarterback and acknowledges the team is set up for offensive d-men to flourish.

"I guess if you put the puck on net, good things will happen," said the skater.

"We have to play fast. That is our main thing to move the puck up, skate with it, put it in the end for our forwards, since we have a lot of skilled, fast forwards, we just give them the puck and we go on offence right away.

"So I guess it's a mix of our good system of playing fast and the skill of our forwards that give us some opportunities to use our offensive side."

The import hasn't won a trophy since his second year in college hockey and hopes to have an EIHL winner's medal at the end of this mini series.

"It is a real special tournament, it is exciting to be part of it" he said.

"Since day one, every night has been more of a battle. Steelers want to win every night and every trophy there is.

"Even though it is a small series, a small season, it is important for us. You play this game to win!"
