SUNDAY: Steelers crash out

Have your say

SHEFFIELD Steelers slipped out of the Play Offs at quarter final stage tonight after losing 5-2 at iceSheffield to a workaholic Hull Stingrays side.

The East Yorkshire outfit were a model in team spirit and defensive zeal - and they made the most of what few chances they had.

While Jeff Legue and Jason Hewitt scored goals in a game which saw Ryan Finnerty hang up his boots, Hull deserved to win...they exposed the fact Sheffield have too many ‘passengers’ in their ranks.

Hull now play Nottingham Panthers in Saturday’s semi-final, while Finnerty will be clearing house and starting a new strategy for season 2012-3.
