Sheffield Steelers, still smarting from a home defeat a week ago to Nottinghan Panthers, lost to the same opposition on Saturday night,

Panthers beat Sheffield Steelers 3-0 in Challenge Cup Group B.

Brandon Benedict and Marc Levers netted in the second period and Matthew Myers rounded off the scoring in the third for the Panthers, with an empty netter.

Elite League leaders Belfast Giants slumped to a 3-0 defeat to Coventry Blaze tonight.

The goals came from Shea Guthrie and David Phillips in the second period and Luke Fulghum in the third.

Rene Jarolin scored twice but goaltender Nathan Craze was the star as Edinburgh Capitals beat Hull Stingrays 3-2, while Jeff Pierce’s hat-trick helped Cardiff Devils to a 7-3 home win over Dundee Stars, whose arrival for the game was delayed.

Jordan Krestanovitch’s hat-trick set up a 7-4 win for Braehead Clan in their all-Scottish Group A clash against Fife Flyers, for whom Matt Siddall scored twice.
