Steelers again left it late, but did enough to keep their Challenge cup hopes alive, winning 3-1 at Coventry Blaze.

As with the previous night (Friday) they had to wait until the last moments to summon up the significant goals, scoring twice in the last five minutes of the game.

The result means that Steelers must win in Cardiff on December 23 to gain a semi-final spot.

Ryan Finnerty’s men got off the mark first as ex-Blaze player Luke Fulghum netted on the powerplay at 25.25. The home side were level less than two minutes later as Shea Guthrie scored at 27.11.

With the game heading to end in a draw, Mike Ramsay netted with a shorthanded goal at 55.37 and then Jonathan Phillips sealed the win for the Steelers at 58.53.
