The Latvian, initially, said he’d been under the impression he would be re-hired after a conversation with the club about his future at the start of the year.

But the goalie has thanked all concerned for his two years at the club and tweeted a picture of himself alongside his farewell remarks on the ferry sailing across the North Sea. ‘Moose’ told The Star: “It is just a business. Steelers can do and sign who ever they want. It is how it is.”

Ice hockey supporters from Milton Keynes Lightning and Braehead Clan have also suggest he would be a good fit for them.
