When Sheffield Steelers released British forward Luke Ferrara 12 months ago he vowed he'd be back.

“My motivation is to prove them wrong. I might have to go somewhere for one or two years and hopefully put myself in a position where I could come back one day" he said, before signing for Elite League rivals Coventry Blaze.

Ferrara scored 11 goals and 18 assists in the 2017-18 campaign, almost three times the points haul he managed at Sheffield and has been rewarded with a new two-year deal in the Midlands.

"I'm really happy to be back playing in Coventry” Ferrara said, who scored a hat-trick against Sheffield in September.

“I really enjoyed last year and want to build on what we started. I was given an opportunity to play and build confidence and I'll just keep doing my best to get better and better. Already, I can't wait for next season to get started.”
