Sheffield Steelers’ coach Gerad Adams has signed another former Cardiff Devils star, Jay Latulippe.
Adams, who signed Chris Blight from the Welsh last year and has been chasing Tyson Marsh, succeeded in luring the 32-year-old American, who iced for Cardiff 2008-10.
Speaking after making his first import forward signing of the Summer, Adams said: “He is my type of player. He competes every night and is hard to play against. He will bring us energy and is just the kind of players other teams don’t like against them
“He talks a lot, he gets under people’s skin and is an agitator. He has played in Europe and put up good numbers in good leagues. I’m looking for some offence from him.”
Adams added: “Jay can play in a number of positions, centre or wing and can also log both power-play and penalty killing time
“His signing ticks a lot of boxes for me. I’m looking forward to linking up with him again.”
Last year, Latulippe, from New York, played for Kristianstads IK in Sweden, staking 55 points in 42 games.
Previous teams include Dundee Stars, Tilburg Trappers (Holland) and Chamonix (France.)
Earlier in his career, he played 69 games in the ECHL, with Johnstown Chiefs, Dayton Bombers and Augusta Lynx.
Steelers have former Devils players Jonathan Phillips and Phil Hill on the roster for next season.
