Ben O’Connor says he and the other Sheffield Steelers defencemen will have to get up close and personal with old team-mate Michael Forney tomorrow and Sunday night.
The gifted scorer returns to the House of Steel with Belfast Giants against his old chums.
And, after a solid start with his new employers, Forney will be looking to carry on his hot form on Arena ice, in EIHL action.
“Forns is a great player, he was fantastic for us last year and has made a great start for Belfast” said O’Connor.
“We have just got to play tight on him. You give him space - he is a great player - he will make good plays and put the puck in the net.
So we just have to keep an eye on him and stay tight with him.”
O’Connor was delighted to see his defensive partner Jace Coyle open his account last week against Manchester Storm.
“Me and Jace play together we have good chemistry, he has been after his first goal for a while now and its good to break the goose egg and get rolling.”
Belfast are currently top of the Erhardt Conference Standings with four points from two games.
They have won three times away from home, at Coventry Blaze, Nottingham Panthers and Edinburgh Capitals.
However, it will be interesting to see how they cope without player-coach Derrick Walser who has been banned from the ice and bench for two games by the Elite League for butt ending at Coventry.
