Sheffield Steelers will have to wait until the middle of September to watch a home Elite League game.

The club’s home supporters will have had chance to look at the new line up in friendlies against Braehead Clan (iceSheffield August 15 and 16) and Champions League fixtures against Finnish side JYP Jyvaskyla and Sweden’s Frolunda Gothenburg on August 30 and September 5 respectively.

But The Star understands the EIHL action won’t face off until September 6 - and that will be a road game.

Meanwhile, Omar Pacha, former player coach at Hull Stingrays, is favourite to take over the newly-established Manchester Storm EIHL side, who will play Steelers at home in a friendly on September 2.

Former Sheffield boss Gerad Adams is rumoured to have inquired about the post, as well as the possibility of coaching opportunities at Belfast Giants.
