Steelers captain Jonathan Phillips says the experience of championship-winning players in Sheffield’s line-up can help them in the title run-in, including tonight’s game at Nottingham Panthers.
“Most us have been in this position before, we know what it takes and aren’t fazed by it. I in fact we look forward to the challenges Saturday and the following games bring” he said. “The key at Nottingham is to play a full 60 minutes and be prepared for 65 if required. We can’t have any of the slips we’ve had in that building before when we’ve conceded bunches of goals quickly. From shift one we have to be focussed and diligent. Concentration levels will be at a high, we can’t turn off for a moment. We take confidence in to the game having beaten Nottingham last week and moved into second place.”
The winger added: “We have won six of the last seven with only a defeat in Cardiff to report. The lines have a balance to them right now and we go into Nottingham looking for two points.”
