Colton Fretter is willing to forgo the pursuit of personal points next season, to help Sheffield’s Steelers’ team cause under new coach Paul Thompson.
Fretter was third top scorer last season with 69 points from 65 games.
Speaking of his aims for season 2015-6 the forward said: “I don’t really set any kind of point total objectives for goals or points or anything like that. I just want team success, and to leave the rink knowing I played hard and did everything I could to help contribute to the team. If I am put in a role where I have to play more defence I will happily do that and sacrifice scoring as long as it helps the team.
“So my goals are to work hard every game, compete to my self expected level, and to help the team to win any way I can.”
Thompson regards Fretter as a solid “two way player” and said recently: “The club will certainly be leaning on his skills again this season.”
n Steeldogs season in EPL League and Cup will commence on September 12.
