Sheffield Steelers await news on injured goalie John Muse

Coach Aaron Fox says he has no idea whether his first choice goaltender John Muse will be out for a few days - or the rest of the 2021 EIHL mini series.

The Sheffield Steelers goaltender limped off half way through Saturday's win over Nottingham Panthers.

He has a "lower body injury," that is all the club is saying, other than its muscle-related.

Fox will press on with Ben Churchfield between the pipes until he knows more.

"I can't say anything until the swelling has gone down, it could be ten days or a month or will we see him at all again? I just cannot say. Hopefully, it could only be a week or so."

Muse was looking "deadly sharp" in the 3-2 win over Panthers, with his replacement going on to save a penalty shot to secure the win.

Churchfield was in goal for Sunday's 5-4 loss to Manchester Storm - and said after the game he will do better in the weeks ahead.

Overall Fox said he liked the look of the newly-assembled squad.

"We looked fast, played with a ton of pace," he said. “The guys are in shape and I am pleased with the way guys have worked and competed."
