Sheffield Steelers coach Gerad Adams is trying to woo Ben O’Connor to stay at the club.

The young defencemen has at least four offers on the table in the high paying Russian leagues.

But Adams, writing in the programme ahead of tonight’s iceSheffield match against Edinburgh said: “He (Ben) had a great start for us (against Cardiff) contributing in the opening goals. Will he stay or will he go back to Russia?

“Who knows. Talks between the player, his agent other teams and ourselves will continue.”

Capitals were in need of a win to help them catch up with third from the bottom Hull Stingrays.

Steelers, who are in fourth spot, went two up in the first six minutes through Colton Fretter and roaming d-man Rod Sarich.

Caps were more businesslike in the second period Dennis Rix causing problems for the Steelers defence.
