Sheffield Steelers forward Ashley Tait had mixed views after Great Britain crashed 5-0 Kazakhstan in their second game at the World Championship (Division 1A) in Budapest, today.
“We battled hard but did not get the breaks. We took it to them at times and had some great chances” he said.
“We can be happy we matched them at times but it is disappointing we did not take our chances.
“They are a quality side and they scored some great goals.
“We must take heart from the good points and take that into our remaining three games.”
Ex Steeler added; David Longstaff said: “We did not deserve to lose that game in the way we did.
“We created so many chances but just could not find a way past their netminder.
“He had an excellent game and stopped us on so many occasions.
“We can be proud of the way played the better hockey against a higher-ranked nation.
“There are plenty of positives despite the defeat.
“We will now rest up ahead of our next game.”
GB play Italy on Wednesday at 3pm UK time.
