STEELDOGS arch rivals, Manchester Phoenix, are in Sheffield tonight for the first time in the new 2012-13 season as the two teams battle it out in the War of the Roses Challenge Cup for the fourth consecutive year.

Manchester have dominated the series so far and Steeldogs will be fighting to lift this piece of silverware for the first time.

Tony Hand has re-vamped his successful team of last season by replacing all his four import players, bringing in a mixture of youth and experience, of which one is an 6’ 5” ex-NHL defender, Robert Schnabel.

With Steeldogs also losing their star forward and goalkeeper but signing some experienced players from Hull, forward Derek Campbell and defenceman, Dimtry Rodin, it will make for two interesting but hard fought and feisty games.

Hull Stingrays lifted the Bradfield Brewery Cup following a 4-1 victory over Steeldogs at iceSheffield this week.
