CHEERS! Sheffield Steeldogs have two reasons to celebrate today.

The EPL iceSheffield club have signed up Bradfield Brewery as their main title sponsor for 2012-3.

And coach Andre Payette will also be supported on the ice again by the return of his three captains from last season.

Greg Wood, the hardworking and gritty forward who returned to his home team last year, combining his role as captain with notching 62 points is the team’s leader again.

Payette remarked: “We are excited to have our captain back. He was a fantastic leader last year. He represents what our team is all about: a hardworking, blue-collar Sheffield guy.”

Ben Morgan, made a big impact on his return to Sheffield last season and as well as topping the league’s British defencemen chart, he posted 43 points.

Payette commented: “Ben made the league’s All Star team and was the best British defenceman last season. The way he puts his body on the line, game-in and game-out, and does anything for the team, makes him the perfect guy to be one of the assistant captains for our team.”

Steve Duncombe, another born and bred Sheffielder is also returning. “Steve is one of the strongest stay-at-home defencemen and another I rate as one of the best in the league, he also put in the points last season, 21 in total,” said Payette.

“I am happy to have these three Sheffield players back with the Steeldogs next season, and also with how the team is shaping up for 2012-13.”

Steeldogs’ owner Shane Smith added: “We are looking forward to working with Bradfield Brewery next season.”
