ANDRE PAYETTE hopes to repay Sheffield Steeldogs’ faith in him with a Play Off semi-final berth.

Payette has been handed a new two-year contract by owner Shane Smith, a reward for his “hard working, passionate, never-say-die attitude” during a successful EPL league season.

The player-coach said: “I am extremely grateful to Shane for putting his faith in me and offering me the opportunity to be coach for another two years. I couldn’t wish for a better organisation to work for and together we look forward to bringing some silverware back to Sheffield.”

That mission starts tomorrow with a trip to Basingstoke Bison for the first leg of the Play Off quarter final.

Then, on Sunday (5.30pm) iceSheffield fans can get behind their team for the deciding leg.
