Sheffield Steelers made it back-to-back wins in the Elite League with a 3-0 victory at Coventry Blaze.

Tom Sestito, Steven Goertzen and Lee Esders were the scorers for last season’s runners-up, who had beaten champions Belfast in their previous outing.

For Esders, it was rich reward for his continuing development at the club.

He has had to shoulder more responsibility since import Cory Pecker was axed.

And tonight, like Friday night against Cardiff Devils in the Challenge Cup, he impressed.

Hull Stingrays edged out Dundee Stars 4-3 in tonight’s other game.

Two goals from Janis Ozolins helped Hull on their way, with Jeff Smith and Jason Silverthorn also on the mark. Dundee’s replies came from Billy Bagron (two) and A.J. MacLean.
