‘Rocket’ Ron Shudra’s son gets two-year pro deal with Sheffield Steeldogs

Sheffield Steeldogs Academy prospect Cole Shudra has been rewarded for his hard work and dedication with a two-year professional deal. The contract will ensure Cole stays on the roster with the Steeldogs until 2017.

The son of former Steelers legend Ron Shudra is currently working towards a BTEC level 3 qualification with the Sheffield Steeldogs Academy at iceSheffield, whilst also developing his ice hockey skills under the guidance of first team coach Andre Payette.

Cole is very proud to have signed his deal and said: “I was shocked at first, but I am extremely proud as are my family and friends and I can’t wait to play more games with the senior squad.

“The programme has helped me develop immensely and the additional training as helped me to achieve my dream of playing professional hockey”

The programme allows learners to develop academically with over 12 hours education delivered in house at ICE Sheffield.

The learners are also given a further six hours ice time per week with coach Payette to develop their skills and abilities on the ice.
