The Czech defenceman was a beefy competitor on the Arena blue line in his first season at the club. That weight was never an issue as he went on to become Steelers' top-scoring defender. But since Covid 19 has stopped the EIHL, Troncinsky has been forced to move elsewhere for work. And the pounds have dropped off since he joined Gyergyoi HK in Transylvania.'Tron' came up against Sheffield team-mate Davey Phillips when Phillips was playing for Dunaújvárosi Acélbikák.

Phillips is back home from the Eerste League now, but said: ""The first thing I thought when I saw him was a lot slimmer, in his face and everything. He looked in good shape and seemed to like it there. His team beat us about 10-3!"I played him in Romania, it seemed a terrible place. Even the rink they play out of wasn't nice."He was in a little hotel just next door to the rink, nothing to do where he is."It was good to experience it, you have to take everything with a pinch of salt" said Phillips."I had a quick chat with him before and after and he just said he was hoping to come back to Sheffield when the Elite League starts."News of a new leane-looking Troncinsky was a boost for Aaron Fox, his coach at Sheffield."I know he had worked hard over the Summer, to be ready to come in" said Fox."He was sending me updates all the time and that is great to hear."I am always in contact with Tron's agent and he seems to be doing good there and there is always hope that we will find a way to get him back at some point."It will be interesting to see how many foreign-based Steelers will be able to return to South Yorkshire should the condensed EIHL season get underway, with Government funding, in the next six weeks or so.
