Sheffield Steelers were knocked off the top of the Elite League last night (Sat.)

Belfast Giants emphatic 9-0 win over Newcastle Vipers - who Steelers play tonight - put them a point ahead although, crucially, the Irish have played a game more.

Cardiff Devils’ 7-2 win over Hull puts them on equal points with Sheffield.

Steelers will still win the title if they win their remaining three games, the last two against Braehead Clan.

Tonight’s fixtures are:

Cardiff Devils v Nottingham Panthers 6.00pm

Coventry Blaze v Dundee Stars 6.00pm

Edinburgh Capitals v Hull Stingrays 6.00pm

Newcastle Vipers v Sheffield Steelers 5.00pm.

Last night, in the ‘Aladdin Cup’ in Nottingham, Braehead Clan won the trophy, beating Panthers in the final.
