FORMER Sheffield Steelers enforcer Derek Campbell has signed for Sheffield Steeldogs - as The Star predicted on May 26.

The addition of Campbell alongside player-coach Andre Payette will make Dogs the toughest side in the English Premier League and will fill more seats in iceSheffield.

Two years ago, after Campbell had helped Steelers to a championship under Ben Simon, the 32-year-old Canadian winger said he was considering retiring, but a further season with Hull followed and now he has joined up with his old friend, Payette.

The club, which came third last season, hope to challenge Guildford and Manchester for top position in 2012-3.
