ICESHEFFIELD say they are ‘proud’ to play their part in helping the Great Britain team warm up for the Winter Olympics.
The venue hosts a GB v Import Select team on Februry 5 before the national side travel to Latvia to take part in a four-team tournament where they will play against the hosts as well as France and Kazakhstan. It is a qualifier event for 2014 Sochi Olympics.
Mandy Parker, general manager at iceSheffield, said: “We are very proud to have been chosen to host this important fixture for the national team.
“iceSheffield is renowned for its figure skating excellence but it was also the first Ice Hockey UK (IHUK) Centre of Excellence. We are home to most ice hockey teams in Sheffield including the Sheffield Junior Ice Hockey Club and Sheffield Steeldogs.”
