McCoy ready for Moor

Have your say

It has been a tremendously busy few days following the finale of the flat season here at Doncaster, as we now prepare for the new National Hunt campaign, with our first fixture, the Doncaster Countryside Race Day, on Friday, November 25.

A major highlight of the Betfred November Handicap on Saturday was the great achievement of Paul Hanagan retaining his Champion Jockey crown at Town Moor. As with Richard Hughes last year, Silvestre de Sousa gave him a mighty run for his money and in Paul’s own words, has been riding out of his skin this season.

All credit to Silvestre for making a great contest out of the Championship and I’m sure plenty of success will keep coming his way.

Overall the entire flat season has showcased some magical action this year which will be remembered for generations to come.

At Doncaster, we’ve had some superb days on the flat and once again the success of our historic four day Ladbrokes St Leger Festival in September, underlined just why Doncaster is such an important destination in the world of racing.

Over jumps, the indomitable AP McCoy is in good form again with a strike rate currently a little bellow 30 percent. He is showing why he is defending his own Champion title for the sixteenth time.

We hope to welcome AP to Doncaster along with the whole of the National Hunt community, for our Doncaster Countryside Race Day on November 25, with the first race getting underway at 12.50pm.

And don’t forget if you’re looking for a fun festive venue for your Christmas party, look no further than Doncaster Racecourse.
