Fantasy Invader remains a maiden after 10 starts but there’s been enough hope to suggest he can take a hand in the Handicap at Wolverhampton.

John Quinn’s three-year-old has only once tried seven furlongs, so it would not be wise to go overboard about his chance. However, his last two outings on the Dunstall Park Polytrack have seen him staying on to good effect over six furlongs so it is worth a go.

His latest was marred by a troublesome passage and can be upgraded slightly, and the in-form Robert Winston again takes the ride, this time off a 1lb lower mark.

Mahdiyah must show something at home as she has gone off favourite for her three outings to date, albeit leaving her backers frustrated.

There have been excuses, particularly as she was too keen for her own good on the two most recent of those runs, and it could be that a drop to just shy of a mile and a quarter for the Median Auction Maiden Stakes will help this free-going sort.

Her trainer Saeed bin Suroor had a choice of runners in the Maiden Stakes and relies on Great Fighter, who was spotted making nice late headway when sixth on debut.

Blinkers appeared to have a positive effect on Daring Dragon at this track earlier in the month and the headgear is retained for the Median Auction Maiden Stakes.

She might just have bumped into a useful one for this moderate level in You Look So Good and given the pair were well clear, she has probably shown enough to take an ordinary race.

Muthafar is no world beater but is expected to make full use of a mark of 70 on his first venture outside of maiden company for the £32 Bonus At Handicap.

Alan King has started the jumping season proper in a manner which he will mean to go on and Hollow Penny can help the good times at Barbury Castle to continue in the 32Red Casino Handicap Hurdle at Southwell.
