Hawks Under-10s get off the mark at long last

A MEMORABLE day for Hillsborough Hawks U-10s - they recorded their first win of the season.!

They did so with an excellent display of rugby, coming from behind to beat Brighouse Rangers 14-12

Burns scored Hawks’ opening try and, after they had fallen 6-4 behind, he regained the lead with another try which Ashworth converted only for Brighouse to go back in front before Nathan Brown secured victory for Hawks with a try in the closing minutes.

Man-of-the-match: Joe Ashworth; coaches award: Max Braithwaite

Hawks U-12s, fielding only 10 players, fought hard but went down 56-0 to Slaithwaite whilst Hawks U-13s were beaten 32-10 at King Cross Park.

Tries came from Kyle Newton and Dominic Mannior. Cory Aston converted.

Hawks U-16s lost 28-6 at Castleford Lock Lane. They had a try by man-of-the-match Corey Hanson converted by Matthews.

Hawks Open Age are in action on Saturday at Hillsborough Arena (2.30) against Thornton.
