Hatti looks to cross-country

FOLLOWING a short end-of-season break, Hallamshire Harrier's British 3000m steeplechase record-holder Hatti Dean is ready to start winter training - and eager to consolidate her outstanding summer form by returning to the Great Britain squad.

The 25 year-old Sheffield runner wants to make the journey to Toro, Spain in December for the European Cross-Country Championships and to Edinburgh in March for the World Cross-Country Champ ionships; but first must establish herself among the top mud-larks in the country.

The strategy for the Sheffield University graduate will begin with a potential club appearance at the National Cross-Country relays in Mansfield on November 3, followed by a stab at the Gateshead International cross-country on November 10.
