BRIAN Barrass(21-8) starred for Woodlands Park in their 165-108 Doncaster Bowls Association Midweek League Division One win over Denaby.

Chris Jones (21-8) won the match (143-133) for Denaby, with Pilkingtons’ best win coming from Kevin Richardson (21-9).

Malcolm Tonge (21-4) led the way for Armthorpe in their 154-124 win at Westfield Park.

Unusually, Adwick had two 21-1 wins from Harry Oxberry and Mick Brookes, but still lost the match as John Richardson (21-8) and Shawn Laycock (21-9) shone for Woodlands Park B in their 128-111 Division Two success.

Terry Mosley (21-5), Hilary Bennett (21-3) and Martin Henry (21-7) were all on good form for league champions Yorkshire Main in their 158-108 win over Rossington.

Bawtry got a great start from Susan Moyles (21-3) in their 154-124 Division Three win over Denaby B.

Steve Fill (21-5) and Barbara Jeavons (21-7) did well for Hexthorpe in their 160-108 win at Denaby B.

Hexthorpe posted a 159-144 win over Askern.

Parklands started with a 21-9 win from John O’Brien and finished with a 21-6 win from Eamon Costello as they clinched the Division Three title with a 153-119 victory over Yorkshire Main B.

Matthew Griffiths (21-6) was the only winner for Bentley Colliery in their 153-124 Division Four defeat at Adwick B, for whom Jean Hopson and Irene Fletcher both won 21-9.

Tony Blanchard’s 21-3 was not enough to earn Pilks Rec C, beaten 130-127 at Bawtry B, a share of the spoils.
