Hallam teams face tough National tests

HOCKEYSHEFFIELD Hallam HC boast not one but two national league hockey teams!

Tomorrow newly-promoted Sheffield Hallam women play their first ever home EHL match against Bradford (1.30 at Abbeydale Park);

Sheffield Hallam Civica men, meanwhile travel to City of Peterborough hoping to avenge last year's 8-3 defeat.

On Sunday Sheffield Hallam Civica men open their home EHL account with a match against local arch rivals Doncaster (also 1.30 at Abbey dale Park).

Last weekend both sides sere defeated, Hallam women lost 5-1 away at Liverpool Sefton even though Kath Hughes got them off the a perfect start scoring after two minutes; Hallam's men travelled to league new boys Telford & Wrekin and went down 2-0.

Both the men's and women's second strings face tough matches. The women play Chapeltown, who were relegated from and Hallam's men face Sheffield University Bankers.
