JAMES French has won the Sheffield PGA Order of Merit and he clinched top spot in fine style.

The Owston Hall GC pro carded a wonderful five under par 66 in the final Sheffield PGA event at Renishaw.

He thus tops the Order of Merit ahead of Richard Gregory of Abbeydale GC who finished as runner-up.

James’s superb round at Renishaw included eight birdies. He shot five under for the back nine finishing with a magnificent birdie on the 18th after driving the green on the 378 yard par 4.

Third on a one-over 72 was Robert Wragg (unatt) and fourth with a 73 was Jason Ripley of Rother Valley GC.

The Assistant Professional Order of Merit winner was Aaron Hodkin of Wheatley GC. Second was Joe Froggatt of Beauchief GC.
