WORKSOP’S Mark Foster is just one shot off the lead in the Irish Open at Royal Portrush after an excellent second round.
Foster carded a bogey free five-under par 67 to head into the weekend 11 under par for the tournament. Birdies at the second, sixth, ninth, tenth and eleventh holes kept the 36-year-old within one stroke of leader Gregory Bourdy.
The Frenchman followed up his first round of 65 by matching Foster’s effort yesterday.
Ireland’s Padraig Harrington is tied with two others for third at 10 under par.
Sheffield’s Danny Willett missed the cut at three over.
