Casey shoulders burden

PAUL Casey has flown into London after a week of treatment and still hopes to play in the PGA Championship starting at Wentworth on Thursday.

The 2009 winner had to pull out of the Players Championship in Florida because of the shoulder he dislocated snowboarding on Christmas Eve.

It led to his withdrawal from the World Match Play in Spain and cost him his place in the world’s top 50, where he had been for the past six years.

The European Tour’s flagship event features world top three Rory McIlroy, Luke Donald and Lee Westwood, Donald defending the title he won in a play-off against Westwood last May to go to number one for the first time.
