Scimitars travelled down to Peterborough yesterday expecting some hostile hockey after an excellent win the night before at home and were not surprised when Phantoms tried to intimidate.

The Scimitars silenced the home crowd with a goal at 00.41 scored by Stephen Wallace from Robert Dowd. Ron Shudra made it 2-0 at 09.41.

Peter Slamiar then received a 2+10 penalty which allowed Peterborough to pull one back on a powerplay at 13.30.

Scimitars' third goal was scored early in the second by Dowd, from Goodman and Raitanen, at 21.55.

Taras Foremsky received a match penalty at 37.10 for taking Wallace out mid-ice – after which Wallace took no further part in the game.

Peterborough pulled another back at 49.06 on the powerplay but Sheffield replied at 51.13 via Moberg (MOM), unassisted high off the goalie's shoulder.

The final goal was scored at 58.04 by Steve Duncombe from Slamiar and Morgan to complete the double win and ensure that the League encounters between the teams will be feisty games.

On Saturday, the game was littered with as many penalties, fights by Johnson and Woolhouse and some great goals. The first one was scored by Wallace, and the second at 13.19 by Slamiar. Goals in the second by Barron, Wallace and Slamiar (MOM) put Scimitars 5-1 up into the third period, then Dowd scored.

The next home game is on Sunday, versus Telford (5.30pm.)
