Youngsters show skills

DONCASTER Knights Rugby Union Club recorded a 27-16 win over Nottingham in their A team fixture under the Castle Park lights.

Playing behind a pack containing seven players with regular first-team experience, half-backs Dave Scully and Tom Luke provided plenty of attacking opportunities for a young backline to show their skills against a much more experienced Nottingham back division in a well-balanced game.

Knights led 10-6 at the break only to find themselves trailing 16-15 midway through the second half. But they stormed to victory with two tries right of the top drawer in the closing minutes.

Planchant (2), Scully and Wilkinson shared out the four Doncaster tries with Luke adding two conversions and a penalty.
