It was a loss that was all-too familiar as Paul Warne's men dominated the game but were unable to make it count.

Here, the Star looks at the winners and losers from the game

Winners

Chiedozie Ogbene

Ogbene caused Millwall endless problems, with his pace and power and constantly had the beating of his marker down the right flank. It was his direct approach that set up Freddie Ladapo for the Millers' best chance of the first half while he showed great quality with his crosses in the second half. On this form, the Millers might have a job keeping hold of their flying winger.

George Hirst

The on-loan Leicester man was handed a debut as a second half substitute and it was immediately clear what he might bring. He nearly scored with a first touch, he looked dangerous in the air and things happened when he got involved.

Angus MacDonald

Boss Paul Warne described his defender's debut as “flawless” and it is hard to argue. The centre-back looked assured on the ball, was strong in the challenge and won virtually everything in the air. He almost secured a dream debut but headed straight at the Millwall goalkeeper from a corner.

Losers

Michael Ihiekwe

A week is a long time in football. Last Saturday Ihiekwe was the hero as he scored a last-minute winner. Here, he was the villain as he let a routine ball slip under his foot, which saw Jed Wallace race through and score. It is harsh to call him a loser as he was otherwise exemplary, but that was the decisive moment in the game.

Jamal Blackman

Blackman might have rescued his defender, but he did not cover himself in much glory. When Wallace went through, the Millers goalkeeper was too quick to race out, meaning that the Millwall player had far too much time to round him and eventually walked the ball into the net. Not the best goalkeeping from Blackman, who is yet to fully convince since his move to the New York Stadium on loan from Chelsea.
