STOCKSBRIDGE Park Steels will seek their first win of the season and a spot of revenge along the way tonight.

They entertain Blyth Spartans who have already trounced them 5-0 in the Evo-Stik Premier Division.

Saturday’s agonising 2-1 defeat at Worksop - who scored twice in the final four minutes - means that Stocksbridge still await that first win and manager Chris Willcock will be hoping it comes soon.

Last time out at Bracken Moor they went down 2-0 to Buxton and, while playing some neat football, they lacked any real threat or penetration and never gave the visiting keeper a shot to save throughout the second half.

When Stocksbridge travelled to Blyth recently, they endured a nightmare second half, conceding all five goals in the final 45 minutes.

For Sheffield FC it’s FA Cup action tonight at Dronfield and their twice-postponed Preliminary Round tie with Abbey Hey from the North West Counties League at Dronfield.

In addition to the £1,750 for the team that goes through, there is also a home tie at the next stage, the First Qualifying Round on Saturday, with Atherton Collieries awaiting the winners.

Elsewhere in the First Qualifying round, Stocksbridge entertain Marine while Maltby Main look to spring a big shock at Curzon Ashton.

The FA Cup action kicks off before then when long-time rivals Worksop Town and Frickley Athletic meet at Worksop on Friday.
