The Spireites are currently on 37 points with 12 games to go.

Wrexham boss Dean Keates has suggested 50 points will be enough to beat the drop but Pemberton says he has not set a points target for his side.

“I know someone said 50 points is enough but if it is I want 52, 54,” Pemberton said.

“I have worked that way before where you have a block of games and you go ‘how many games do you think we will win out of this realistically?’

“You might say ‘we have a block of four games I think two wins and two draws’ or ‘two wins, a draw and a defeat’. (If you do that) you are allowing them to fail.

“Why not try and get four wins?

“If you don’t win you feel like you are chasing in your goal setting so we will take what comes as it comes.”
