The 21-year-old is a central midfielder by trade but has filled it at left-back, left midfield and right midfield over the last few months.

Born in Rawmarsh, Wiles is happy to play anywhere for the team he loves as boss Paul Warne taps into his versatility.

“I just want to play as much football as I can even if he plays me in goal, I will still do a job,” Wiles said.

"Football is my passion and I just want to keep playing, playing and playing.

"It is frustrating sometimes when you are in a position you are not used to but if I am getting in the team I am happy.

"I will keep giving my all in every position."

Wiles is happy to have a second crack at the Championship, having been a teenager when the Millers were last there two years ago.

The style of the division is more suited to Wiles, who is a ball-playing creative type, and he is enjoying the test of one of the best leagues in Europe.

“I love it, to be fair. I don't want to blow my own trumpet but it's the league I want to do well in,” he said.

“You have a bit more time than you do in League One and I think my decision-making will get better.

“I'm still young. It's something I can work on. Every single day is a learning day.

“I'm delighted to be in the Championship and I just want to keep playing more and more games.”

Wiles has been able to take his mind off football during the recent international break by spending time with his girlfriend.

“It's my fourth anniversary with my girlfriend,” he added. “We went away and I enjoyed some time with her: a nice hotel, some good food.

“It's important to recover and do your own stuff away from football. I'm looking forward to it.”
